For a very, very long time I had envisioned – dreamed, really – about the chance to photograph an engagement session or a wedding at Running Hare Vineyard. I’ve come close to the opportunity, but never made it there. So when Katie and Mitch told me they would love to go there for their portrait session I was so excited to get things moving in that direction! We quickly made the necessary arrangements to book Running Hare for the portrait session and I emailed my intern Denise to get her on board as well. Denise and I worked quickly to start planning out our logistics and timing, and when Katie and Mitch pulled up to start their portrait session we dove in and worked quickly to make sure we were able to capture the best light possible.
Everything about their portrait session was a dream for me! I mean, I could spend DAYS at Running Hare surrounded by the endless rolling hills of grape vines and Tuscany-like surroundings.
Katie and Mitch were brought together by the “Friends You May Know” feature on Facebook. They had several mutual friends and later remembered they attended middle school together. Shortly after chatting on Facebook and sending a few texts, they decided to go on their first date. Their first date eventually turned into a strong relationship that left them both feeling as if they couldn’t live without each other. Mitch was Katie’s retreat, the one who made her smile and reminded her that problems were temporary, he was her rock. Katie was the one Mitch wanted to make laugh for the rest of his life, she was his reminder that together they are much stronger than they ever could be apart.
