Engagements

Amanda and Tom chose to meet me at sunrise at the US Capitol Building in DC for their engagement session. What a beautiful fall morning!

Tiffany and Chris both have ties to Washington DC, so it was only natural that we meet there for their engagement portraits. The Washington National Cathedral was the most perfect location for them! Sunrise in DC is absolutely romantic.

Wanting to start their relationship slowly, they went out on a few dates not really expecting to fall in love with each other. And quickly they realized that they found the same goofy things absolutely hilarious. Their sense of humor was similar between the two of them, which I got to personally witness when we met for their engagement session. In between the romantic snuggles and sweet kisses Bryson was busy making faces while Shelly laughed at his crazy antics.

As Kate and I got to know each other a bit better I was so surprised to discover that we have a lot in common, especially when it comes to having a deep desire to want to keep things on schedule and moving properly. So, I couldn’t help but laugh (to the point of tears!) when they told me their engagement story!

Melissa and David met me on a hot summer day at Running Hare Vineyard in Prince Frederick, Maryland. The weather toyed with us for a while, requiring us to reschedule our portraits – so much like a few of my other couples this year. But despite the heat, we had a full night of laughter and jokes. (No seriously, ask David to make a “GQ face”. You’ll get immediate laughter!!)

It all happened on St. Patrick’s Day at the local VFW. Emily was with a friend, and so was Sidney. They had a great time together and all four of them exchanged numbers just after they realized that they lived in the same apartment complex, just steps away from each other. After planning a date with Sidney’s friend, Emily ended up hanging out with Sidney at this very lighthouse that same night. They quickly realized they were meant for each other and that’s all the proof that Sidney needed to propose.

A little over a week ago Jen & Jason met me at their Baltimore home with hopes of walking around the city and capturing a few images to celebrate their engagement. You see, in just a few short days these two will be exchanging vows and dancing the night away at the Legg Mason Tower! Waiting until the blooms came out was probably one of the best decisions they could have made when it came time to schedule their engagement session.

December in DC equals holiday magic. Add a bottle of champagne, a tulle skirt, and graffiti you’re sure to get some amazing portraits! Justine and Zach spent the afternoon with me running all over DC and checking out the most eclectic market I’ve ever been to. What a day it was!

Summer time at Sotterley Plantation in Hollywood, Maryland is so beautiful! And I was absolutely thrilled when Mandy and Chris chose this as their location for their engagement portraits. I promise you, I could have stayed in this historic garden photographing these two together ALL DAY if they had have let me. So far, 2016 […]
