Mellissa and Evan met at Salisbury University in the fall of 2012 inside a shared classroom. They had a mutual friend and Mellissa was vaguely aware of Evan’s name but didn’t officially meet him until one day she found herself sitting next to him in the atrium. They started following a pattern of meeting each other twice a week in the atrium before class, and so their friendship blossomed. After a six month friendship they nervously went on the first date. A year later they knew each other’s strengths and weaknesses, what made each other happy, they knew each other’s fears and their love for each other started to grow stronger and stronger.
This month we celebrated their engagement at Friendship Forest Christmas Tree Farm. We had a wonderful time laughing at each other and talking about the types of images that they were both hoping to have captured. During our time together I was able to meet Evan for the first time. But I was also able to see in-person how they acted when they were together. They have common interests, for sure. But they seemed to connect immediately with each other – almost like I wasn’t even there. Sometimes it can be a difficult thing to create connection between a couple so their images tell their story. But Mellissa and Evan didn’t have to work for that. Their connection was immediate and apparent to anyone who was watching. The result was a gallery full of sparks and playful adoration!
