Three weeks before Erika’s wedding day she had her hair and makeup trial. We decided to make the best of this day by scheduling her bridal portraits so she could have even more pictures to celebrate her beautiful wedding. Her dress was sized and fitted, she absolutely glowed donned her veil and not a single hair was out of place. I’m still absolutely floored at how much staying-power her makeup had on the day we met, because IT WAS HOT. The true test of your wedding day makeup application is spending a couple hours outside in 100 degree heat index in your wedding gown!
We walked through Jefferson Patterson Park in St. Leonard, Maryland on a sticky and cloudy afternoon. And even though we weren’t greeted with an overly orange and glowing sunset it didn’t matter because we were blessed with the most perfectly filtered white light I could have ever dreamed of. Starting our session near the white gates and barns perfectly accented Erika’s white gown and veil and we slowly made our way to the edge of the Patuxent River where we were surrounded by sand and sea grass, ending our portrait session soaking up the quiet sounds of the water lapping on the sand.
