Leigh and Hal had one of the most beautiful and elegant weddings I’ve had the honor of photographing. Their touching Catholic Mass ceremony at Saint Aloysius Church in Washington DC included music that filled the walls of the tall historic church, a unique vow exchange, and a receiving line full of kisses and congratulations. Just before the rain came we had the opportunity to grab some “just married” portraits of Leigh and Hal in front of the church, before they were whisked away to meet their bridal party and guests at Old South Country Club. Their wedding went off with a bang – quite literally – as Hal walked out onto the green and let off two cannon shots in celebration of their love. I’ve never seen anything like it and as my heart jumped in my chest with each cannon shot, I couldn’t help but think about how much I have absolutely loved having the chance to work with them, walk beside them during their wedding planning, and now witnessed them surrounded by their friends and family to start a new chapter in their lives together as husband and wife.
Congratulations, Leigh and Hal!!! What a unique and elegant wedding day you had to celebrate such a strong relationship! From my heart, thank you for inviting me along to capture everything!!
