I’ve never met anyone with quite a gift like Justine has! She can walk into any room and instantly light it up. She knows exactly what to say to people to make them feel welcome and accepted. And she has a way of asking questions that will almost always result in a “yes”. On top of all of those wonderful personality traits, she gives the most amazing hugs – ever! Zach is her perfect match. There’s no doubt about that. If you have the honor of spending time together with these two it becomes obvious very quickly. The way he looks at her with admiration, the way he speaks of her when she’s not around. You just know that he feels like the most lucky guy in the world.
Justine and Zach spent several years crossing paths before they actually met each other. Their story is proof that fate exists. And before I walked away from our consultation together, I was in tears. Their genuine love for each other and their dream to create a wedding day that isn’t a show but instead a focus on the celebration of the love they have for each other is all it took for me to fall for them. (As creepy as that may sound, it’s exactly how I feel.)
We met inside of Union Station in DC. Shortly before they walked in I was approached by a man who asked me if there was anything he could pray for me. It has been a very long time since I’ve been asked a question like that so we talked for a little while, and I left him feeling much lighter than I did when I got there. Union Station was full of holiday decor and one of the largest Christmas trees I’ve ever seen. There were people everywhere buzzing around with luggage, some chasing behind their kids. And then Justine and Zach walked in. It was all so perfect.
Our time together began just outside of Union Station’s doors and they immediately fell into cuddling together as if no one was watching. Many times we were stopped, they were congratulated, and people were watching as Zach twirled Justine. It’s a day I’ll never forget!
Remember that gift that Justine has? It came in handy several times during our session! Her natural charm afforded us the most wonderful opportunity to photograph some beautiful shots of them together with the long line of red taxis that queue up in front of Union Station. These have got to be some of my most favorite shots from their session!
After a few romantic moments of slow dancing in the streets we headed out to Union Market. We knew going in that we wanted to try for roof access to grab some epic shots overlooking the city-line. But we had no idea how we would pull this off. Again, enters Justine. Within moments of walking around Union Market we were in an elevator on our way to the top of the city!
