Glasgow Farm Fredericksburg Virginia Wedding

The Weekend Review | Glasgow Farm Wedding

Weddings

October 19, 2015

WOW, what a weekend!!! My sister-in-law came in for a quick weekend visit, providing us with lots of much-needed company and entertainment. We hit up Bowles Farm’s pumpkin patch with her and the kids on Sunday and spent a lot of time catching up, watching my daughter freak out over the hay pit, and we even squeezed our adult bodies into tiny train cars for a ride around the farm. (Then the train operator kindly joked that “we were on a farm, so we have plenty of tools to pry you out if need be”. LOL!) We gorged on yummy cupcakes and hot chocolate. And my daughter got her face painted for the first time. (She chose a butterfly.) And even though I was tired from working a beautiful wedding on Saturday, I still managed to muster up some energy for beating the cold and running around with family. I’m SO glad I did!! We haven’t done things like this in ages and it felt great watching my daughter try to pick hay out of her boots later that night.

Saturday was WONDERFUL!!! At one point Pam told me that everything for their wedding was meant to be. It all just fell into place perfectly for them. And I could tell that it provided her with a sense of peace on her wedding day that allowed her to magically float through her day without a worry. Nothing was rushed. Nothing was stressful. And I could feel the joy and peace radiate off of her throughout the whole day.

We met at The Glasgow Farm in Fredericksburg, Virginia at 3pm to begin capturing images of Pam and her ladies getting ready. The light in the room she chose to get dressed in filled the walls with a glowing softness that complimented Pam’s peaceful demeanor. Shortly after she climbed into her dress, Todd showed up with his guys. It was almost time for their First Look! We captured a few portraits of the bridal party separately and then Pam walked slowly to the backyard to meet her soon-to-be-husband. They joyfully embraced each other and ooooo’d and ahhh’d over how nice they looked. Then we whisked them away to a tree lined park for some romantic portraits alone.

Pam and Todd’s Glasgow Farm wedding ceremony had so many unique elements that it left me feeling nothing but the love they had for each other. No music was played as they walked down the aisle. Instead, their friends and family clapped and cheered for each of them as they rounded the tree-lined pathway. When it was Pam’s turn to enter, everyone’s reaction of her beauty was filled with awe. Just before they exchanged rings a Cherokee proverb was read, along with a lovely poem that left their guests whispering, “That was beautiful”! It truly was a magical ceremony reminding us all what was really important in a marriage.

It was an absolute honor of mine to attend such a touching union between two people who dearly love each other. With heartfelt wishes, I want to congratulate Pam and Todd on their marriage! Here’s to many more years together finding rest and peace in each other’s arms!
