Shelly and I have known each other since she was in college. We met through a mutual friend in small-town Virginia and immediately became friends. That was close to 13 years ago!
Fast forward a few years into our friendship, she graduated college and I moved to Maryland and got married. She enlisted in the military and we slowly started to lose touch. Once she was out of the military and back in Virginia, she got a job in Alexandria in the police force and met Bryson. This is where their story began.
Wanting to start their relationship slowly, they went out on a few dates not really expecting to fall in love with each other. And quickly they realized that they found the same goofy things absolutely hilarious. Their sense of humor was similar between the two of them, which I got to personally witness when we met for their engagement session. In between the romantic snuggles and sweet kisses Bryson was busy making faces while Shelly laughed at his crazy antics.
A perfect pair, if you ask me!
When it came time to choose the location for the engagement session they knew immediately they wanted to stay close to home. They both work in Alexandria and know the area well, so it was only natural that we meet there and walk through the streets stopping to capture images at the Carlyle House and in a very well-known alleyway.
We even found a few spots that reminded me of Charleston, which my made heart SO happy!
Congratulations on your engagement, Shelly and Bryson! I had an amazing time reconnecting with you after such a long time apart. I’m hoping this is the beginning of us growing our families together!!
Now – the countdown to your March wedding has officially begun!!
